Poppies – black and white contrast and shadow

In my previous post I published images of poppies where colour was an important element in making the image.   However, in the next set of images there are a mixture  of images where by experiment or design I think making black and white images also works for this subject.  I have used NIK’s Silver Efex Pro 2 to finish these images but the planning process in making the image had always considered the black and white option.  This in part reflects my perception of these plants as ancient and almost gothic in their representation at times suits b&W  but also the contrast that they provide including where the image is made in macro or close up also benefits in the representation of detail.
